Every year, we host the School Aid Run/Walk. It’s a very pleasant course over a two or five kilometre distance, your choice, around Bulstrode Park in Gerrards Cross. As it suggests, families, children and their dogs can amble or run the course, to raise money in support of our literacy programmes in Africa. This is a great family event where everybody can get involved, regardless of your fitness levels.
We award prizes for the:
- First competitor 5K
- First competitor 2K
- First Family 5K
- First Family 2K
- Best fancy dress
There was also an Inter-Schools 1km competition prior to the main event organised by Simon Kearns, PE Teacher at Gayhurst School, Gerrards Cross.
Our volunteers also run a cake stall, should you wish to take home a reward for your effort!
Our annual film night, held at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, is an event that sells out completely every year. In 2017 we showed the critically acclaimed "A United Kingdom" where viewers were able to enjoy canapés and a glass of wine in the sumptuous surroundings of the NFTS theatre.
This event we held for the first time in November of 2017 and it turned out to be a huge success. It’s a very social and for some, an exciting and mentally challenging way of raising money for a good cause. We were able to raise an astonishing £1,470 through the sale of cakes and a raffle.
