Nearly 13,000 books plus desks and chairs sent to Tanzania

In collaboration with the charity Wavumbuzi, and the office of the Prime Minister of Tanzania, School Aid despatched a large consignment of books, furniture and uniform to the Tanzanian port of Dar es Salaam.

While education is a priority for Tanzania's government, resources are very stretched. As a result, although numerous schools have been built across the country, supplies of even the most essential equipment are often lacking. The materials sent with this shipment included almost 13,000 books destined for both primary and secondary schools, together with classroom desks and chairs, items of school uniform and sports equipment. These resources have been distributed to schools in the Dar es Salaam area under the auspices of the Prime Minister's office.
