We are delighted to announce that our former Chair, Janis Mowlam was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours 2020 "for services to education in South Africa and volunteering". This honour is a thoroughly deserved recognition for the extraordinary time and effort Janis put in to School Aid over such a long period.

A decade of Janis' stewardship saw School Aid assist schools in multiple southern Africa countries, including the creation of sustainable education projects across South Africa, Malawi and Lesotho; the legacy of which will be felt for many years to come.
