Holiday Reading Club at a bike track in Maseru, Lesotho

A Holiday Reading Club, organised by School Aid's Project and Reading Club Officer, Moso Ranoosi, proves to be a success.

The children in the photo are at a bike track in Maseru, which is open through the school holidays. Moso Ranoosi, School Aid's Project and Reading Club Officer, has organised a reading club for the attendant children, who are mostly boys of both primary and secondary age.

He starts with an energiser, which involves lots of jumping around and wriggling to get the children to settle down. This is then followed by a story read from one of the books kindly donated to the Lesotho reading clubs by Usborne Books at Home. The children have an opportunity to discuss the story, acting out the parts or re-telling it in their own words. They are then provided with paper and crayons so they can draw a picture, using any available surface, which includes leaning on the backs of others!
