Home to School Aid Patron, Her Excellency Mrs Mwanaidi Sinare Maajar, Tanzania has been the focus of School Aid's work since 2003. Since then we’ve reached some of the country’s most remote schools, shipping over 425,663 books to 207 schools which support 111,981 children, including a number of orphans and vulnerable children.

Tanzania shipment being distributed
Our second 2017 shipment to Tanzania has arrived in the country's main port, Dar es Salaam, and is being offloaded and distributed to schools.

Helping schools affected by recent earthquake in Tanzania
We have received thanks for helping the schools in areas hit hard by the September earthquake in Tanzania.
Some of the schools are in the Missenyi District in northern Tanzania where the epicentre of the 5.7 magnitude earthquake was. Professor Wen Kilama, who is co-ordinating the shipment of books, said that once they receive the books they will ensure they reach the intended beneficiaries to help with the revival of education in these areas.

19 pallets of books were loaded onto a container bound for Tanzania yesterday.
Professor Wen Kilama will be co-ordinating the distribution of these books, as part of the Bukoba Project.
