Lesotho reading clubs to benefit from latest shipment

School Aid's last shipment of 2017 left our warehouse early in the New Year, heading for 16 schools in and around the Lesotho capital, Maseru. This is the base of our Project and Reading Club Officer, Moso Ranoosi, who in 2017 introduced our first reading clubs in Lesotho at underprivileged schools around Maseru.

The container was crammed with primary school reading and library books: some of them destined for new and existing reading clubs; others for libraries and to provide general reading resources. These include projects run by our long-term partners, Dolen Cymru Wales Lesotho Link.

Between them, the schools are educating more than 10,000 children, nearly a quarter of them designated as orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs).  And since most of the schools have no library as yet, we are sure that the books will be a big boost to their resources, bringing the joy of reading to a whole new generation of children.
