Donation of art materials being used at The Peter Clarke Art Centre, Cape Town

A donation of art materials, drawing pencils and water colour crayons, donated by the Rotary Club of Keswick, has been received by the Peter Clarke Art Centre in Newlands, Cape Town, South Africa. These materials were sent out in a shipment in September.

At the Art Centre, there are 3,500 learners per term, 80% of which are from disadvantaged backgrounds. These learners wouldn't have access to drawing materials and art teachers at their own school. The Art Centre facilitates students that show an aptitude and desire to learn art and design skills, both as a means to help them develop and express creativity, as well as to equip them as they move forward into the work place.

The acting Principal of the Art Centre, Cindie Ah Ling, thanked School Aid for the donation and said that the donation was received in the spirit of 'Ubuntu', which is African for "I am what I am because of who we all are".
