Bumba School

Mike Makwela, Africa Programme Manager, visits Rumphi, Malawi

School Aid's Africa Programme Manager, Mike Makwela, visited Rumphi between 22nd and 30th September to provide library training, assist in the preparation of the launch of the new library at Bumba Primary School and provide support and mentorship to the Project Reading Officer, Kondwani Kamanga.   He was also able to foster the relationship School Aid has with Life Concern Organisation.

The consignment of books arrived on the 21st September, with 13 pallets of books in total for different schools, including Bumba Primary School.  The library training took place over 4 days, with the 7 attendees sitting an exam on the 4th day, based on what they learnt over the previous days.

The Library launch took place on the 28th September.  The Rumphi District Education Manager attended the ceremony and praised School Aid for their part in reducing illiteracy levels in Malawi.
