School Aid Partner Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Local MP
Ikuzu Secondary School near Tarime celebrated their 25th anniversary and a new focus following the launch of their partnership with School Aid.
Ikuzu received a shipment of books, sports equipment, stationery and school furniture in December 2008. The head teacher and school governors have written to say that since the resources have been distributed the school has had new purpose and life. Pupils are more motivated and teachers now have a wide range of materials to create lessons and to motivate pupils.
In September 2009 the school celebrated its 25th anniversary by inviting all the local community to the school along with local MP xxxx. Inspired by how the School Aid partnership has helped Ikuzu School, the local MP hopes now to expand this programme throughout the region in order to benefit many more schools, who are all short of much needed school materials. Plans are now being discussed with local Tanzanian charity Wavumbuzi to select and profile new schools to join the programme.
