Volunteer
The secret of School Aid’s success has been the hard work of its small army of volunteers. If you have some spare time and are looking to be involved with a fun and friendly team of dedicated volunteers, then come and join us.
Join our team of volunteers today
School Aid is located in Hedgerley near Beaconsfield in South Buckinghamshire. We have a range of roles located in Buckinghamshire but we are also interested in developing new sites for collection in other areas of the country, and new contacts with schools in the UK.
The following are urgently needed at our warehouse/office in Hedgerley:
Publicity/Events Assistant (Days/hours flexible)
- To assist the General Manager with producing publicity material to promote the work of School Aid and to develop contact with the media, companies, community organisations and the general public. (This could suit someone wanting to work mainly from home.)
Drivers (Days/hours flexible)
- To drive our van to collect goods from schools.
Packers (Wed afternoon or Thurs)
- To help in a team of other volunteers packing and sorting donations.
In addition we always welcome:
- Computer-literate administrative help
- Fundraisers
- People willing to pioneer a new collection centre in another region
Some of these activities can be done from home if you have access to e-mail.
How you can volunteer
If you are interested in any of the above positions and would like to find out more, please contact Clare Junak on 01753 883853 or office [at] school-aid [dot] org. We can arrange for you to visit our warehouse and meet other volunteers to find out about different roles.
Induction and training
Depending on the activity you will be trained as a volunteer either by joining a small group or by one of our experienced volunteers.
